Are you looking for a bespoke garden room company to turn your ideas into a reality? If so, we have put together the most important questions that we are asked on a day-to-day basis from future clients.
We appreciate that a bespoke garden room is a substantial investment and we want you to feel armed with all the tools you need to make an informed decision. We hope that this is helpful.
1.How long have you been in business?
Swift began their journey 10 years ago.
We have a decade of experience in the garden room business to offer you. We also have hundreds of fabulous bespoke garden rooms we can share with you, in a variety of styles and sizes.
Our systems have been tried and tested with a proven track record for high-quality life-changing spaces. As we are nationwide, we do not have a showroom but, when appropriate, we are happy and confident to arrange viewings with our previous clients’ buildings.
2.Will I get any protection on my investment / warranty on my building?
You certainly will. Here at Swift, we will register your deposit payment with an independent deposit protection plan with IWA. We also provide our clients with an independent, insurance backed,10-year structural warranty. Your peace of mind is very important to us. We want you to feel confident that your investment is in safe hands.
3.Will my room be insulated – can I use it year-round?
Absolutely. All of our rooms are built from the highest quality materials. The floor, roof and walls are all constructed from premium SIPs to create a highly efficiently insulated box. This is one quality that sets us apart from a lot of other providers who may advertise a room that may look very similar but lack the full benefit of the insulated envelope of our designs.
We pride ourselves in only using the highest quality materials, creating a space that we know you can be comfortable in, whatever the weather outside.
4.What is the process?
After your initial enquiry, we shall get you talking to one of our regional designers as soon as possible. They will discuss your ideas and ask you for photographs, sketches or plans. At this stage, they will indicate price for the building you have in mind.
If you are happy that Swift can provide you with your life-changing space within your budget then next will be your free site survey.
Your designer will visit your property and asses the garden space, garden room location, access etc and take measurements and photos.
Soon after you will receive your initial designs and proposal. If you are happy to proceed the next stage you will confirm your order, pay your deposit and will be booked in our build schedule.
If you need planning permission for your new building, we have a trusted company that can do this for youon your behalf, and we will manage all the paperwork and monitoring of this. Alternatively, we are happy for you to do this independently from Swift.
“The process from concept to completion was excellent: Martin did a great job working with me to produce a design that was within my budget but incorporated the important features I wanted; the construction team were a pleasure to have on site and worked diligently; and the support team ensured everything ran smoothly and to plan.”
5.Will my room be fully finished ready to move in?
Yes, your new space will be all ready for you to move in with electricity and plumbing (if required). There are never any hidden costs with our rooms. We will always state clearly in your proposal what is included in your proposal.
6.What are your lead times / How long will the build take?
After your deposit is paid, typically for a detached garden room the lead time from that point is 3 – 6 weeks. The average build time is sometimes less than 2 weeks. If your building is larger contains a kitchen and/or a shower room this will add to the build time a little.
7.What is the payment schedule?
Our payment schedule will be clearly explained to you on your initial proposal and outlined again on your detailed proposal.
Firstly, we require 25% of your contract price as a deposit. This will secure your building start date on our build calendar (Please remember – this is insurance protected).
Next is the interim payment. This is 50% of your contract price. This is due upon delivery of the main elements to the site, which is the first day of your build.
Lastly, the final payment is the remaining 25%. This is to be paid when your building is completed, and we hand over the keys to your amazing, new life-changing space.
